Beefless Crumbles

“Eat anything you find in the kitchen, ” they said when they left.

The Purple Dragon was happy to oblige.

Dragons are always hungry.

Foraging in the freezer revealed something called Beefless Crumbles.

The stuff in the bag looked more like ground beef than like the vegetables listed on the label.

Sautéed with onions and garlic the savory fragrance is mildly umami.

“Tastes like food,” nodded the Purple Dragon, chewing thoughtfully, “but honestly, I prefer my produce in its original packaging. “

Support Your Local Poet

The Purple Dragon loves books, especially books written by friends.

Valdosta poet Jeff Hill, along with Satellite Beach poet Nancy Crozier, officially launched their joint poetry collection at a book release party hosted by Traditional Cuts Shaves and Brews in Melbourne, Florida.

TWO SPARKS A FLAME is a split project, even-steven, each poet taking half the pages and turned 180 degrees from each other’s work, a visually interesting volume.
But beyond that novelty, this is good material, solid poetry, self-revelatory and painfully honest.
