The Old Lady just happened to be sitting beside a lake when an osprey happened along and she just happened to have her binoculars focused on the bird at the exact moment that it dove to skim the lake surface with its talons outstretched, SNATCHED a turtle from the water, and flew away with its dripping prize!
Binoculars are wonderful, but timing is essential.

For the Love of a Tree
In the middle of a street near downtown Madison, Florida, stands an oak tree.
The size of the tree suggests that it predates the street in which it stands.
The roadbuilders built around the tree and gave the venerable giant its own curb to define its space.
The Old Lady loves to see such signs of respect for a tree.
