I, in the Sky

A shadow as big as the moon

Fell on Earth, brought night to noon,

And darkness hid the day.

But the light endured,

Was only obscured,

And the shadow moved away.

The message is clear:

We must not fear

When shadows move across

For darkness may hide

But cannot destroy

And the light is never lost.

  1. Julie, I love this. May the Snake Nation Press have permission to publish it in its next issue? Also, if possible, with the image?
Please don’t forget the Literacy Festival on Sept. 8 & 9th. Kevin Cantwell, an noted poet is doing a workshop at 10 a.m. on Sat. and I’m doing a memoir workshop at 4. I think you have the makings of a writer. ro
