Food Glorious FOOD!

The Old Lady is an overtly flaming foodie. She makes no secret of her lust for the delights of the table.

Someone asked her how she could have left Sarasota, one of the culinary capitols of the country, for the wilds of extreme south Georgia.

She admits to missing the fleshpots of the Suncoast, and confesses to longing for “…the fish we ate in [Sarasota] that cost nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic.”*

But there is good stuff to eat everywhere. You just have to find it.

Last night, for example, she visited the 306 North restaurant in downtown Valdosta to hear some friends play music.

“And,” murmured The Old Lady contentedly, “the music was great, and in Sarasota that meal would have cost about three times as much!”

The grass is not necessarily greener… or tastier!… on the other side of the state line.

  1. I am please that 306 give you so much pleasure. We had dinner there for new year and it was horrendous. We go there for lunch every Friday with Friends. Their best thing is the parking. But I am difficult to satisfied. If you want to be a chef, learn to cook, learn to make sauce. Everything is so good with a sauce [not gravy- SAUCE-]
